My youngest little guy turned one a few weeks ago. We celebrated with a small family party complete with Where the Wild Things are decorations and a delish cake (made by my mom!).
Have a peek at the details:
I like to keep our parties simple and low-cost. So I choose one or two items to buy from Etsy to keep my theme and then make the rest.
The cupcake toppers were from Etsy. I printed them and glued the toppers onto card stock and then glued those to paper straws. (love and hate hot glue guns and the burns they give!! lol) You can find the toppers here at LemonSugarStudios
I ordered his invitation from KatieDiDesigns. She was SO great to work with and super friendly. You can find the invitations here.
I made the banner, crown, and high-chair decor with ribbon, burlap, paint, fur and felt from Hobby Lobby. Super easy!
My mom and I collaborated on his cake design and then she made it adorable! I hear that the chocolate cake was delish with the chocolate bark on it (as a chocolate-allergy momma, I just have to be satisfied with smelling it. lol). But I recommend it, as it received rave reviews!
We had such a good time, and my Little Wild One couldn’t have had a more appropriate theme for his first birthday! 🙂
